I’ve had my small 3040 CNC for almost a year and it has been a fantastic little CNC with the stock spindle. However, the 200 watt spindle that came with the CNC couldn’t cut aluminum and would bog down in thick wood or when doing deep V-cut signs. As a temporary solution a Dremel worked a little better but was still lacking in strength. So after a lot of design time I modified the existing Z axis carriage to hold a custom DIY mount and a regular 1/4″ router. The video shows the process. Thanks for taking a look, I do appreciate all comments and suggestions.
