This is a quick example of How to align CNC lathe turret for drilling holes in difficult material with best tool life. We received this 1000 pcs order that require 2 holes from each side.
Decided to invest in a top notch drill from Ingersoll Cutting Tools. In order to get best performance I had to align my drill exactly to the center of the axis of rotation of the part. On this machine it is simpler said than done. The turret is out of alignment and will not correct anymore. Drill and ream with the tools in the chuck and you get the desired alignment necessary for optimal performance. Simple but very effective solution to increase productivity and tool life.
