Hey CNC Woodworkers! Corbin Dunn here and I’m discussing my Automatic Tool Changer, or ATC for my Avid CNC machine. I’ll talk about some spindle options and what I got. Then I’ll talk about the air compressor setup, which is required for tool changes. Next I’ll cover my pneumatic setup and go over the diagram on how I did it. Finally I’ll discuss what wires go where in the Avid Control Box. Chapters are located down below if you want to skip to a particular area.
Overall, I’m discussing the HITECO QD-1F ATC Spindle, and the CNC Depot S30C — or the basic S30, but most people use the S30C for woodworking.

I have not tested these things for the S30C, so use them at your own risk! I assume the S30C kit package uses a 24V DC power supply and 24V solenoids. If it doesn’t, you will need to source something else. So, before you buy anything, see what your CNC Depot package has.
