CNC machine mainly contains three different parts:
1. Spindle and spindle power supply
2. Stepper motor and driver
3. CNC controller
4. Machine body (Frame, Lead screw, leaner guide rod, linear bearings and support).
**Spindle and spindle power supply:
The spindle is mostly PMDC in small cnc machine whereas in high power cnc machine Brushless DC motor is used. In PMDC type machine a simple rectified dc source is enough to drive the spindle.
Stepper motor and driver:
To move the spindle in x, y and z axis. For each axis a stepper motor is used. To power the stepper motor and to feed proper pulses to the stepper motor a DC power supply and stepper motor driver is used.
CNC controller:
CNC controller is used to communicate between the CNC hardware machine and computer. The G- code from PC is converted to proper signals to drive the stepper motors, and also receives signal from limit switch and other sensors.
The body of the CNC machine varies based on the bed size and milling material. If the milling material is wood then Machine mode can be of less strength.
