Since my C-axis is driven by an CL-Stepper and clutch I had to figure out how to set/find C zero fast and precise any time I use the C-axis.
Searching index pulse from encoder is to slow for my taste if the spindle stops a long way from the index. So I installed an NPN sensor near the index pulse and from this point set precise C zero with the encoder. Done in 2 seconds now.
Good to have if using C axis twice in a part, or if you have hexagonal stock needs to be machined….
Because this is now done in a acceptable time, I made it default when switching on the C-axis wit M51 macro
That will work with the small Acorn board also.
