Repair BROKEN Cast Iron Cylinder Gland | Flame Spray Welding

Using a Flame Spray torch to successfully repair a broken and damaged gland. This gland is off a D10 Dozer blade tilt cylinder which has been damaged because the piston bypass valve got loose inside the cylinder! Repairing cast iron is always a challenge so we will be using our preferred method of metal powder and jet flame spray gun with oxy acetylene to repair the broken gland. We show the step by step process of building up the damaged surface using the flame spray gun before machining the part back to spec on the lathe. This job was a success & our customer is very happy!

In this video we are using:
– UTP Variobond flame spray gun
– Hafco TM-26120G Centre Lathe
